I use a Wacom and a trackpad side-by-side. The touch capable Intuos 5 is very intriguing.

It’s easier than pronouncing “Wacom”. Apparently it sound like “Whack’em”.

That’s the point: It doesn’t at all. Same comfort as the Wacom with the added benefit that you don’t have the pen in your hand all the time. I always hated the fact when you need to type something that you have to put the pen away, type, grab the pan again..
Anyhow I’m an ex-Wacom man 🙂

October 29, 2012 at 11:32 pmI’d have to see. The pen, I think, is what saves me.

I just cannot fathom the difference still…I have tried many permutations but both and x seem to select the whole clip in the timeline for me…no big deal but just nags at me now and then.

Yes thry both select the clip, but the type of selection has different uses.
Here’s a small difference.
Select a clip with c, use the , and . buttons to move the clip.
Now try the same thing after selecting with x.
See the difference?
C selects the clip as evidenced by the thin yellow line around the whole clip.
X is the range tool, as evidenced by thicker “handles” on the left and right of the clip.

November 7, 2012 at 3:07 pmHow about the difference when exporting a range of a sequence?

When exporting, you will need to use ranges (x) and not c.
If you select a clip and export, those bounds are ignored but a range (marking in and out) is now respected in 10.0.6.

November 7, 2012 at 3:55 pmHi Jeremy,
Well over here “nudge” does not work after selecting clip with x whereas selecting with C allows you to trim whereas x just allows to to drag the range handles.
Still not sure I quite get it.

James
