That worked fine and was a bit easier, but limiting it to a file with the same name is a restriction if you have many versions. Too bad they didn’t provide for choosing another file. With this restriction I think I’ll return to the original way of loading a replacement when starting Vegas. It gives me the flexibility I need.I have another problem. When the original file or any replacements are loaded, the audio envelope for volume refuses to work. It behaves the same, but it has no effect. It’s also brown in color, which is not my color assignment. I’ll assign this problem to a different post, but I’ve been chasing this one down a long time.
This video was given to me by a friend (!!!) who asked me to to do some edits and see what I could do to improve the video and audio. Just a “little” job. Hmmmm.
It will give away my age, but my last bike was an original 1987 Honda Hurricane 600 that I rode until 12 years ago, when I moved to Bangkok.

What happened? I ask because I have been going into Project Media, selecting the original, Right-click > Replace for years and it has never failed. It’s how I replace the comps I download from Getty Images with the licensed versions of the clips after the reviewers are done.
What kind of error message do you get or what type of behavior is happening that you say it doesn’t work?

May 23, 2019 at 4:32 amHmmm, that was nearly 3 months ago, so I can’t recall why it didn’t work. I THINK it had something to with the audio envelope, but I can try it on the next one, which should be a few days from now. I’ll let you know.
