February 8, 2018 at 2:28 pmHi jeanke,
I would recommend the Atto ExpressSAS®™ R680 – 8 External 6Gb SAS ports.
I believe you have PCIx 2.0.
in case you have PCIx 3.0 it would be the Atto ExpressSAS®™ H1280 – 8 External 12Gb SAS portscheers

March 14, 2018 at 4:17 pmHi guys, I am back.
I followed your advice and bought a RR4522. However my mac pro 5,1 is not booting when I install the card in it + beep sounds, i have the impression that it comes from the RR4522 itself. I read in the user manual that I have to do a firmware upgrade in case the system does not boot. Two ways: using the webgui (impossible in my opinion if my mac does not boot) or flashing via DOS (as far as I know I need a PC for that?)
So I installed it in a dell 7010 with a 16x pcie slot, but here I have the same problem when I try to boot the pc, it hangs at the dell logo…
Anyone who can help me? thanks!

March 14, 2018 at 4:42 pmLong shot, try running the DELL in legacy BIOS mode (if it has one)… I’ve seen HP boxes fail to boot with other brands of RAID controller. Depends on the board etc.
Sorry can’t be clearer.
