Rendering “lossless” with sony vegas

I was not saying that lossless H264 was any point. Just commenting that it does not have to be highly compressed as you claimed.

Yea I agree. “Lossless H.264” is an oxymoron. It doesn’t exist. H.264 is a “lossy” compression format. You can’t make it something that its not.

I guess the bitrate that AviDemux uses isn’t high enough for your footage and I don’t see a way to change it.

You could also install the Huffyuv codec and use AviDemux to convert to that but the files will be considerably larger than M-JPEG. Huffyuv is a lossless codec.

I would go one further… If you want to work with video and you don’t have lots of hard drive space, then you can’t work with video!

Video is huge! Making video small involves loosing a lot of quality. If you can’t buy a bigger hard drive, take up another hobby. Video requires lots of hard drive space. (…did I mention that video is huge?) 😉
