    Thank you for your help.

I guess I have to choose between:
    1) a better editor (vegas) and rendering in a non-optimal format (1080p) for my source video (720p). Assuming Vegas 10 supports creating AVCHD lite DVDs (rendering at 720p), I could always start with Vegas 9 and then just rerender my project(s) when 10 comes out. I don’t know how big an assumption it is though for Vegas 10 to be able to create AVCHD lite DVDs.
    2) a worse editor (Pinnacle) rendering in an optimal format for my source video.

My blu ray player does support AVCHD lite. It is a pannasonic player.

I could possible find another app that would take a 720p Vegas rendered file (mp4) and create an AVCHD lite DVD from it. Not sure if that is possible or if that too would create a loss in quality.

    Thanks again for your help,
    Rob

Hello and thank you very much for this information.
I was able to do most of these things, but I am not able to find where to disable resampling. First, are you suggesting we select the files we have imported into the project? If so, is “Disable Resampling” the actual field that needs to be adjusted? Or are you talking about “Field Order” and advising us to select “None (progressive scan)” ?

Sorry if this us a dumb question, and thank you for your help.

I am not able to find where to disable resampling.

This is done on an event by event basis on the timeline. Right-click on an event that contains the camera footage and select Properties. Then in the Properties window you will see a radio button for Disable Resample. You must do this for every event that you want to disable resample for.
