    If you have the latest version of FCP (v5.1.2) the updated codecs come with it.

    You will always see a difference in quicktime vs AE. Quicktime adjusts gamma differently for playback on computer screens. It won’t look the same. You need to get yourself a hardware capture card (such the AJA Kona series) and only then will you get accurate results. You should not color correct looking at your computer screen.
