    Wait … finally, if i capture a mini dv tape to vegas, do i need to render it in avi-dv pal for a same quality ?

    Yes, as long as there are no FX or transitions applied to the source video, it’s an exact duplicate.
    A number of years ago, a Vegas user did a test and stopped at 100 copies of the source video with NO degradation at all.

    True, and even if you did add FX, the Vegas DV codec is extremely high quality and can withstand several re-renders before there is any noticeable loss.

    Can we go back to those days – pretty please?
    Life was SO much easier back then before we had so many codecs, frame rates, frame sizes, HD, etc. to worry about 🙂

    It is the same thing with mpeg4 iPad videos : IF i encode them ni mpeg4 avc, Will i have the same quality (sent with an iPad 🙂 )
