October 1, 2009 at 5:13 pmHi leland,
I’ve just found that the PSD 16b files can not be opened by layers in FC.
Make sure your PSD files are 8b.

October 1, 2009 at 5:24 pmThat’s very strange.
I’ve just open a 22 layers PSD file (coming from Illustrator) without problem in my MBP.
Do the layers have any kind of “Compositing Mode” applied, different from the usual FC modes (Add, Sustract,..etc)?

October 1, 2009 at 5:30 pmIt is… in a word, whack! And thinning my hair by the minute.
Here is the test file I’ve been using. It works just fine in my FCP 4.5 on my (non-intel) G5 dual.

Tried two computers, one 2.33GHz MBP, and one 3.0 GHz 8 core.
Both FCP7, both 10.5.8, both QT 7.6.4
