    Hi

Whenever i try and import Layered PSD’d, they come in as sequences, not stills.
when i double click em, they open in the canvas.

the only way i can use em as images is by dragging em to the timeline

is this what you are seeing?

PSD’s open as PS seq’s in FCP, the have all the layers intact and you are supposed to use them as sequences. You can use the layers all in tact within the sequence. Also, you copy and paste from that sequence into your main edit if you want. This is what PSD do when imported into FCP.
    Hope that helps.

You don’t change that. Thats how it works.

If you don’t want them to be layered sequences flatten them to get rid of the layers.

If you want to load them in the Viewer instead of dragging to the timeline, right click and select Open In Viewer.

No I saw the opposite. They are normally supposed to come in as sequences so you can edit the layers in FC. I was worried about it because they weren’t and I needed them to.

I had the exact same problem, PC PSD files creates in Photoshop CS5.5 wouldn’t come into FCP7 as layered. I finally fixes this when I found Photoshop 5.5 for Mac (I had a CS1 on the mac), installed it, then reserved all the PC PSDs and then they finally imported correctly as layered. For some reason, using the EXACT same version of PS (albeit one for Mac not PC) did the trick. Good luck.
