ProRes 422 files stop working in Vegas Pro

When you do conversions from Prores to another format, make sure your levels and gamma are the same on the scope.

No it will not. Sony MXF is 8-bit.

CineForm AVI will maintain 10-bit for you.

What is the size of the new file after combining the files?

Were you able to determine the number of files on the timeline that vegas stopped working?

Well, I have spent all day trying to find out how to convert my 10-bit Prores to 10-bit CineForm AVI.

I tried GoPro Studio but it will not import my ProRes files. It says, it “is not a valid GoPro CineForm clip”.

So, how would I make this conversion?

I suspect there are several ways Jeff. I’m using TMPGEnc Video Master Works 6. It’s about $122 with a 30 day trial version. The GUI is relatively easy.

Set your Vegas Pro project to a Pixel Format of 32-bit. Once you have GoPro Studio installed you can create a template for CineForm AVI following my tutorial:

Creating Cuneiform Templates in Vegas Pro

Then drop your ProRes 422 footage onto the timeline and render to CineForm. This should maintain a 10-bit file. You can use a utility like MediaInfo to check.
