Leave Windows Sound alone, and then in:
Vegas > Options > Preferences > Audio Device > Audio Device Type, choose Firepod ASIO?

And under Default Audio recording Device, I would choose my microphone, whether firewire or USB?

It’s funny how much better you can use your equipment once you finally figure out how to use it (Dohh!)

You got it now. Whatever you do, don’t select the Microsoft Sound Mapper. Always select the specific device that you want to use and you’ll be OK.

Thank you for your offer of help.

Our goal is to build a multi-media, multi-denominational Hebraically-oriented ‘Christian’ and Messianic website with all sorts of video, audio, and downloadable print media, for the benefit of all those Judeo-Christian who are called to return to the original first-century ‘Jewish-Christian’ faith in the Messiah, before all the changes were brought into the faith in the fourth century.

Basically we are trying to make our own cross between Facebook, YouTube, and MySpace, if that makes any sense. And I need the help with pre-purchasable modules, because I am not any kind of a genius with code (and have enough problems with video editing).
