July 12, 2011 at 12:37 amYeah, it was a bit of trouble. The most frustrating part was the unknown. Once we got the r3d files trimmed, everything went smooth. We were able to edit around any corruptions. Client was happy.
We’ve done a couple Red jobs since then, and all was well. Hopefully the SSDs and new electronics in the next revision of Red cameras fixes these weirdities.

July 12, 2011 at 12:43 amFYI a little update on my situation.
The files that we received were transferred from another drive which had the original files on it. We tracked down the originals and are exporting again now and halfway through it looks to be the fix. Must have been something with the transfer…

July 12, 2011 at 12:48 amGo for it, man. I hope thats all it was. I recommend using Shotput to make those verified transfers.
The new version even does MD5.

July 12, 2011 at 1:22 amIn the file world, your data is everything so making sure at least two copies of check summed files before cards or drives are erased makes sense.
We have taken the robustness of tape for granted. Data is potentially more fragile.
