It looks like bad compression to me . i have seen that exact look from crappy Mpeg-2 compression which leads me to believe it’s a goofed up render.

You meant millions of colors+, right? What kind of alpha did you render (pre-multiplied, or straight) and then you double checked that in FCP (i know we’ve been over this, but sometimes it’s only a little switch that is is forgotten to be flipped).

DPI has nothing to do with video. Higher DPI won’t gain you anything, only frame size will gain you resolution in video.

I am in Chicago by the way.

I thought you were asking about the final render of the commercial.
Yes, the logo movie is of course millions +. Remember that the other logo is an RGB Photoshop file so there’s no render.
Also the alpha in the logo is straight and so it’s checked in FCP.
The reason I used the 15-inch 300dpi logo was to try something radically different from the logo movie to see if it would render a similar problem.
If you send me your email i’ll email you a link to my ftp site so you can download an FCP project with the relevant files.
    Thanks again.

Check my profile. I am only going to leave it up there for the next 15 minutes. Let me know if you got it and then I can remove it.
