June 23, 2011 at 10:01 pmI think the updates you download via the “software update” control panel go in the /Library/Updates/ folder on your hd. I just checked mine and found some old packages.

June 24, 2011 at 4:13 amIt’s the pro applications update 2010-2 that people are looking for, myself included. If anyone does have the .dmg file please drop me a line so that I can get a copy of it. I know many people who are looking for that added bit of security.
cheers,
rob

June 24, 2011 at 12:09 pmIt works. Just used it myself on a reinstall. But I agree – wish i could download the pkg. The software update has screwed me in the past

June 24, 2011 at 4:36 pmIn os 10.5, you had the option in the software update application to go to the “update” menu and select “install and keep package.” (or just “download) Then you can have it on hand for future use, should it disappear from the interweb. This seems to no longer be the case in 10.6 … bummer.
Dan, did you check in your /Libary/Updates/ folder to see if any usable .pkg file showed up after you installed the 7.0.3 update?

June 24, 2011 at 6:24 pmI am on Snow Leopard. I see a lot of files in the Library/Update folder called CoreFP.pkg and it must be one of them, but I would not know how to find out which one. Any ideas?

June 24, 2011 at 7:04 pmOn the update page (which now leads to FCP X page when you click download) it says the download I’d 321.1 mg so maybe look for one that size?
Lemme know if you find it!

June 24, 2011 at 11:16 pmTo be honest, an alternative download is not so difficult find with Google.
But that is supposed to be illegal, isn’t it?On the other hand, it might as well be illegal to retract support and make an essential update unavailable on purpose and without warning, considering the damage you can inflict this way.

June 24, 2011 at 11:19 pmI tried to find it on Google but couldn’t. At this point, I don’t care how I get it. Did you find it? Can I grab it from you if you did? I have a public folder you can upload it to. Lemme know.
