Print to Tape from Apple Pro Res

Yeah agreed. My first HDV wedding, i captured as HDV and was able to print back to tape no problem. Shortly after that i learned of the HDV to ProRes method and the benefits seemed many so I made the switch without realizing the problem of Print to Tape.

I still appreciate the benefits though and will do as David suggested and archive to a hard drives. Actually, i may just pick out the sections I would want to keep as demo material and toss the rest. Thanks guys!

I’ve been using hd’s to archive for the past two years, and despite care and gentle handling I just had my first failure (out of 29).
