November 7, 2010 at 10:28 pmI tried Playback Pro. Pretty simple but effective! But wow, 950$ for this? I find it a little exaggerated… No cheaper solution?

Playback Pro is the cheaper solution. It’s a $900 piece of software that runs on a $2,000 to $5,000 Mac. It replaces a $15,000 to $20,000 hardware DDR system.
QLab is cheaper, though its model is cue-centric, not video-centric. I’m not aware of any other apps with comparable user interfaces.
