Playback stutter CS5

Hmm…Intersting. I was just checking if i-Frame indeed best preset for XDCAM EX footage (EX3) and came across this thread about CS5.5 problems.

Really not sure were the bottle neck is however I can confirm this:

PC with CS5.5 – QuadCore i7 Processor – NO issues with 1080 or 720p footage from EX3

MAC with CS5.5 – DualCore i7 Mac book Pro – Hm..so so.. not enough resources, however at 1/2 playback resolution seems to work fine actually.

So besides all the negative notes, just wanted to say – hey actually it does work on some setups.

I was thinking of getting another MAC PRO computer for CS5.5, but wonder if any issues will come up.

Sooo… if anyone managed to figure out what was the problem – please update. So far its just info / no solution type – would be interesting to see tech feedback on “why ..or why..?”

I was talking with a rep at B & H who said that the Matrox Compress HD Card improves performance considerably. I wonder if anyone out there has experience with this card in a mac, and can speak to how the card improves overall system performance in Premiere Pro 5.5?
