playback plays single frame on external monitor

Jeremy,

Do you know what kind of device I would need? I am planning on getting a DVI cable with a HDMI on the other end and connect it to my G4 laptop to a flat screen TV. Do you think that would work?

I don’t think that will work for you as the DVI your computer will send will not be understood by the tv. This is speculation as I have not tried it. At the very very least, you will want a Matrox MXO, but I am not sure if it will work with a g4. You’d have to check up on that. You could use an AJ-1400 DVCPro HD deck to do this as well.

Hey guys, had the same issue… (single frame where the playhead was parked…)

was totally thrown but knew it couldn’t be *that* big of a deal ( I had moving picture just yesterday, then… not! the single frame thing)

What had arbitrarily happened with me was under the View menu . I went
View > Image + Wireframe … I’m sure a shortcut popped me in that Wireframe mode right under my nose…

If you are in the canvas or viewer, that shortcut is ‘w’.

Hi there,

Exact same issue just happen to me. It was working fine yeasterday but now. SIngle frame. I only get video to playback correctly on my computer if I turn the externel video ”off”. From the moment I activate it, it just gives me the single frame on the timeline with the audio playing fine. I know it can’t be my set up as everything is the same and it was working before. Any ideas? I’ve tried all the suggestions and nothing works.

Reset your easy setup by hitting control-q and choosing the appropriate easy setup.
