April 20, 2010 at 1:04 amI fell for all the rental guys out there, a new hot camera every 6 months.
Dan, the lens conversions works real nice on the other end, everything is a compromise and like most of comments I cannot wait to see this camera in actions, I didn’t go crazy over the Alexa because she is out of my league. I try not to want things I can’t afford :-). I don’t buy any hardware that cannot be paid for in less then 6 months.
It is just good to see where all the excitement over the DSLR is going. It is always funny to listen to all the people saying why DSLR are crap and why you cannot shoot real video with then, while you are watching some pretty amazing stuff on some pretty big screens at NAB.
My other hope is that Canon will put the 4:2:2 favor of their codec in the next round of DSLR. Until then I’m just going to jump into the shallow end with the 550D.

This camera will do well in the indy community but i wonder (if) the scarlet ever comes out, how well this will do.Even the scarlet fixed lens kit being 3k with the mysterium x sensor will pretty much be the queen of the game. RAW recording will give all makers a run for the money, but then again sony and panny are long timers and will know what do then.
