Does this decoder also work for viewing the .mov in Adobe Premier? I shot HD P2 footage that my clients wants to edit in Premier. If not is there a plug-in/codec that will make DVCPro HD files viewable in other editing software such as Premier?

    Thanks

Premiere Pro supports native p2 .mxf files in version CS3 and above. If the file has been captured as DV100 QT, Premiere Pro can read that as well.

    Shane,

basically it’s not FCP that installs Apple’s pro codecs, it’s Compressor. Any installation of Compressor will do it, it’s part of FC Studio, FC Server and Logic Pro.

There is a clean script you can run in case something in the installer didn’t work properly. Also, if you’re using CS3, make sure you’re using at least Premiere Pro CS3.1 which supports P2 (3.2 was the last version)
