April 26, 2009 at 12:22 pmHello!
I’ve filmed some material with Canon 5D and converted it to Apple Prores. In FCP the material tend to have a much bigger amount of contrast then when it’s played in Quicktime. Is there away to deal with this problem in FCP?

November 12, 2009 at 10:00 amYou can solve it color grading in Color.
FCP reads the 5D files as RGB, while Color does correctly interpret the full range from as YUV-Guillem @ Blur Producciones, Madrid.

FC may be miss managing the Gamma, but not reading an H264 clip as RGB.
If you want to have an idea how the clips would look in such case, apply a RGB to YCbCr filter to any clip in AE or Color.
