I feel a Quicktime Update coming on.

These are probably cache files that are automatically deleted..but they broke something in the last update to ProApps, maybe?

Don’t think so. I’m on 7.0.3 and I’m not seeing them.

    All the best,

I’m not on the latest updates and thus has nothing to do with FCP.

I can watch it happen by opening and quitting a mov in QT. A new file gets created in the process.

It doesn’t seem to harm anything, I was just wondered if others were seeing it or if it was somehow unique to my system.

Looks like I’m not alone, which means I don’t think I will reinstall my system. Thanks for all the responses.

I just did the same thing and observed the Preferences folder as I opened and closed various Quicktime movies in QT7 and QT10. There is one preferences file for each version of the player. Every time I open a movie in one of the players, the preference file is updated, but an additional one is not added.

Nope, no long list here. New MacBook Pro 13″ running Snow Leopard. Just a couple of QT prefs.
