September 25, 2010 at 6:30 pmI feel a Quicktime Update coming on.
These are probably cache files that are automatically deleted..but they broke something in the last update to ProApps, maybe?

September 25, 2010 at 9:59 pmDon’t think so. I’m on 7.0.3 and I’m not seeing them.
All the best,

September 25, 2010 at 10:28 pmI’m not on the latest updates and thus has nothing to do with FCP.
I can watch it happen by opening and quitting a mov in QT. A new file gets created in the process.
It doesn’t seem to harm anything, I was just wondered if others were seeing it or if it was somehow unique to my system.
Looks like I’m not alone, which means I don’t think I will reinstall my system. Thanks for all the responses.

September 25, 2010 at 10:54 pmI just did the same thing and observed the Preferences folder as I opened and closed various Quicktime movies in QT7 and QT10. There is one preferences file for each version of the player. Every time I open a movie in one of the players, the preference file is updated, but an additional one is not added.
