Activity Forums VEGAS Pro OT Sony VX2100 or Panasonic AG-DVX100A

    Hi Jan
    Thanks for your reply. I’ve been using the Sony VX2000 for 4 years now. I never recall recording ‘camera noise’ using the ‘on-board’ mic or ever hearind any camera/motor noise. Yes I do use external mic’s for most applications including the Azden wireless (both handheld and lapel) as well as my AT897. I also have 2 Sure SM11’s and a Sign Video XLR adapter. As a backup and sometimes primary recorder I use the Marantz PDM660.

    The on-board mic on the VX2000 has never given noticable (to me anyway) camera noise and I do use it mainly for background ambient audio.

    So you can understand my ‘fear’ after reading that post.

    Also I’m not sure about the low-light capabilities of the DVX100B.

    And I feel confident that the DVX100B will offer the same quality if not better response. We had a PD150 included in out tests and the cameras are all virtually the same for on camera mic operation.
