June 18, 2010 at 2:38 pm[Marlon vom Bruch] “how could I achieve this in final cut?”
https://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2009/02/anamorphic-lens-flares/

here are 2 ways, though the best effect would be to do this In Camera with real anamorphic lenses or using the Vantage Blue Filters infront of the camera – but both are expensive to rent.

June 18, 2010 at 11:20 pmHello, I think he wants to use the Optical Flares plug-in of Videocopilot inside FCP, sorry but This plug-in is not compilable with FCP, you will have to use After effects to generate the flare you need then import and export in FCP or if you want to use advanced flare generator inside FCP you will have to check Knoll light factory check the second link provided by gary adcock .

December 8, 2012 at 12:59 pmHi guys,
No one seems to be aware that Borisfx makes a very, very good lens flare plug-in as a separate “unit” available independently of their larger packages for Motion/FCP.
https://www.borisfx.com/units/lens_flare.php
It is very good, with loads of options, including “stripe” which emulates that anamorphic (Star Trek) look. With some playing around, it gives very nice results… not as robust as VideoCopilot’s Optical Flares, but is the very best option for Motion/FCP users.
