Just for future reference, there is a keyboard shortcut in Premiere Pro CC (not sure about CS6) – Ctrl+O

I’m looking for a way to select a clip in the timeline and open it in the source monitor all from the keyboard, I don’t mean match frame. Right now I have to double click with my mouse to get the clip to open in the source monitor and still have it be connected to the clip on the timeline. Is there a way to do it with shortcuts in PP_CC?

The workflow in FCP was: x (marks the clip), opt-A (selects the clip), Enter (opens in the viewer or in this case source monitor).

With Premiere Pro CC, the shortcut is Shift+O

Shift O opens clips from the project panel into the Program Monitor but what if you’re in a sequence and want to open the selected clip in the program monitor without double clicking? Thanks!

Simply press the F key! I just learned this a while ago and I made an account here just to share it with you:)
