First off- you should read the whole thread. I mention that I am using SOME hdv – but our main camera is DVCPro HD. I am well aware they are different! Sorry for the confusion…

We are shooting 3/4 of our material in DVCPro HD and using a Canon HDV camera as a second camera here and there.

Have you (or anyone else reading this) seen/ used this HDV-to-SDI device? It sounds awesome…

Quite right…shame on me. I do recall that now.

That device looks awesome…dunno about it…but it looks good.

Do have an HDSDI capable card in your Mac?

I maintain that your HDV footage should also be digitized as DVCPRO-HD
to keep things as simple and pain free as possible. (so it matches the other)

I don’t have that one, but I do one of their nanoConnect boxes for HDMI to HDSDI conversion when dealing with HDV (using an HDV deck with HDMI out) and similarly for dealing with AVCHD from a Sony HDD cam … the Convergent Design devices work very well.
