November 29, 2005 at 1:21 pmIf it is true that you can’t open SW bins, programs or projects in M100i or HD, then what is the point of taking a project on the road if you can’t do anything with it once you get home?
An EDL – for transferring within the same software family – seems silly.
Will a laptop allow you to work with 300 kb files?Well, we are still using 7.5 on OS 9, so I guess this doesn’t really concern me, just wanted to get my 2 cents in.

While you cannot open sw Bins and Programs in Media 100 i you can exchange everything (Bins, Programs, Projects, Media) with an HD system.

I too have no problems with online material at high bitrates with an external drive. Not possible with the internal drive alone.
We are also using M100SW succesfully with online material sent across a gigabit network from our main M100HD system (ie, from the material stored on a G5 with 2 internal SATA drives, through the giga network to the powerbooks). We now effectively have 3 M100HD systems for a fraction of the cost. It means 3 of us can work on the same programme using the same material so we can independantly edit seperate parts of the same programme then combine them later. Way cool!
