Newcomer to 24p ntsc, pulldown problem?

hello,
a long time later. we tried upgrading the OS and installing 5.5.3 as well and still the C frame is a weird one. Sharply split in two, I think the bottom half of it is a mixture of B and C while the top part is a mixture of C and D. does that make any sense?

i know you are probably done with this issue…but it seems to me that your problem is with the xpress pro you were going directly in via firewire and not going through a device to remove the pulldown for the computer. in my experience, xpress pro has no software-based solution to remove pulldown and get you back to your 24fps. i solved this problem in xpress pro (4.6) by capturing on a full media composer set up with the requisite hardware and then cutting in xpress pro at 24.
