May 10, 2016 at 3:24 pmIs it the right one?
Yes, that is the most recent. You will see that the latest dll was added yesterday.
Have you installed the Microsoft camera codec package?

All raw files should be shown as “Microsoft”. I’ve never seen the camera type being identified.
Perhaps you could upload a sample image.
Another mystery!

May 10, 2016 at 3:35 pmActually, I don’t use Microsoft camera codec but Fastpictureviewer, that’s why it’s written the camera brand.
Do you think, it might be a reason? My picture is from a Canon 60D.
However, when I use your script with jgp image, it works as expected.

May 10, 2016 at 3:40 pmThat’s the problem. You must use the Microsoft camera codec pack. The script extracts the images format. To be identified as a camera RAW file, the format must show “Microsoft”. Otherwise, it will treat the image as a regular format such as psd, jpg, etc. and simply add a take using the same file extension, which seems to be your problem. Download and install that codec and it should work. Having said that, I have no idea how it will interact with you FastPictureViewer. You may have to uninstall it.

May 10, 2016 at 11:35 pmUnfortunately, I can’t install Microsoft codec package on Windows 10.
It’s not compatible.
Do you think that’s it’s possible to set up your script to recognize main raw file extensions (cr2, nef, etc…) -

May 11, 2016 at 1:19 amToo bad that it doesn’t work for Windows 10. Seems that you are not the only one with this problem. I’m still on Win7, so I didn’t know it was an issue.

Of course it’s possible, but I’d have to give some thought as to how it should best be implemented. In the interim, it would be very easy to do a “one-off” for just a single format or two that you are currently using. Just let me know which ones and I can upload the files to a new Dropbox folder.

May 11, 2016 at 1:32 amThanks for your patience Wayne.
I’m mainly using cr2 and dng raw files.
If you can implement that, it would be great! -

May 11, 2016 at 1:48 amDone. Just download the “open stills in graphic editor.dll” file in the original location. It should work for CR2 and DNG files. Let me know.
