Anyway, before you run around judging stuff by your first look at a few images, just go ahead and download the demo, it’s free!
Play around with it, you can do this with exactly the same attitude (“oh, no, probably nothing for my kind of profession”), and see how fantastic your assumptions were, OR maybe you find something that actually does make you a happier guy?! One never knows.
It wouldn’t even give me a heart attack, if you’d be actually grateful later?!

Oh I did. I actually already noticed it last Friday when I was incidentally surfing frischluft.com. All I’ve said that is that I don’t find it too useful for my purposes – no more, no less. Everything else is already just interpretation on your part (or are you being sissy because you feel offended as a developer?).

Perhaps Mylenium would have done better if he elaborated on his work requirements – that would have kept things in perspective. We all know that there is no one plugin that’s good for everyone, well perhaps with the exception of Shine.
This one looks interesting and I look forward to giving it a good run once I’m done with my current projects. FWIW, I am doubtful that my current projects (historical kinda stuff) will benefit from this plugin – then again I could be wrong.

Well, yeah, and I couldn’t resist to tease. But look at the beauty of it, I’m here for less than 10 hours and we’ve already had our first arguments, haha! I’d call that a healthy relationship compressed into one very long night.
Nah, thing is, this is such a new product and so much more than what he made it seem like. It’s so important that you get to check it out for yourself. If some people see such a false statement as in “just glas and marbles” it just discourages them to go and realize that it is a full on rendering engine for reliefs! That it does stuff that no plugin has done to that extend in the compositing realm. Yet, it’s still playful and simple, compared to what it can do!
Anyway, I’m a little on edge myself right now, rather vulnerable after a year of hard work and just a few days of having it released. I could never forgive myself, if I didn’t get as many of you as I can to at least see it or even try it out. It is for you! It’s almost a pure give-away. I’m having my fun with it and everyone, who played and worked with it realized and used the power (except one, who I just met (nutch, nutch)).
So, well, forgive my slight lack of personal posture and go explore the ZbornToy for a few moments. Don’t forget to check out the tutorials and demo-scene(s) (more to come!).
Thanx Roland! As for your project, it really depends on what you need to do, of course. But there’s almost no limit as to where or what the ZbornToy can do for any project. You just have to consider one thing and one thing only: It is in principle a relief rendering, no matter on how much steroids. So you won’t get a stick, casting a stick shadow on the ground (so far, we’re working on a few solutions to overcome that). But for pieces of a wall (extensions), particularely close-ups, it’s absolutely brilliant! You could maximum detail (each pixel counts) and full on shading for it.
So you can get stone with translucent bits in it. Wood with amber.
Environmental illumination integrates it all easily into a setting anywhere anyway!
Great benefit but no need to shoot HDRI panoramas. Solution allows for differenciating between diffuse illumination and reflections. Bias allows reflections to only let through highlights for instance.
And all of this with renders of a few seconds per frame! It’s really fascinating. But yeah…

Is your tutorial .mov supposed to have audio that goes with it? I think it would be much easier to follow if it did. It definately is an interesting looking plugin.

Ahm, sorry, no. I was gonna spare you my germany accent! 😉
I’ve tried to make it all with the mouse, so you can follow each step, if you use the slider to proceed through it.
But you are right, I should record one with audio.
We just need to find a better place to upload it to, because our server is hopefully overwhelmed by it. If as many people would buy it as there are people downloading the clips, we could effort a bigger server ourselves…hehe…. (CRY)
But, well, it’s the first days of the release. (sigh)
WE SHALL WORK ON IT! =)))) (I’m all back to a happier mood!)
