My bread and butter is live theatre and dance. I used VX2000s until it wore out, then I switched to the Sony FX1000s. They use the same chips and lenses as most of the 1/3 inch chip Sonys. I get great results. I added Ninjas a couple of years ago and that has improved the quality slightly and vastly improved the workflow. The FX1000s and cameras from this family are very easy to operate and get reliable results. They also get great battery life and you can use your old Sony batteries.
