April 16, 2013 at 1:27 pmWorks just like the concept of audio or opacity Keyframes in 7 or X. Moving the keyframe up and down changes it’s value, and the curve is a visual representation of the speed. The easing in/out for example.
I really don’t use them much in an editor, but I use it all the time in AE. What I would use in X that Premiere has would be the simple ability to copy and paste Keyframes.

April 16, 2013 at 1:29 pmPremierPro should get AE’s keyframe engine and it would be the best editor with key framing on the planet. No need to re-invent the wheel imo.

April 16, 2013 at 1:38 pmKeyframes don’t have to take that much space and can be done “nicely” in “limited reel-estate”.
Curve drawing is a different beast but could / should be modular. From small with “decent control” to full control and take more space.
Makes perfect sense yes if implemented correctly.
Yes, keyframeing sucks in other editing apps. I’m not sure if that’s really a good comparison though when they are so poor.

April 16, 2013 at 1:40 pmI understand why this isn’t done as it’s probably low priority in an editing app and most have a long list of “this could / should be added”.

April 16, 2013 at 1:44 pmnah fair enough – I actually like the old keyframe setup is the admission basically – I’m on AE since 3.0 – I’d gotten very used to it by the time they went to the graph editor.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like the graph editor – and there really is nothing like it when you really want to get in there – controlling camera moves for one – but i was really happy to see the old setup here, mostly because I know it like the back of my hand. So I’m biased in a sense…
