Music Copyright Question

Try looking at it from the musician’s perspective. So it’s ok to take away the musician’s livelyhood by pirating his music to make you look good. I’ll bet if some of your footage showed up on someone else’s demo reel you’d scream bloody murder. Just another view from someone who’s both an animator/designer and a musician.

Once when I was an art director, I was interviewing a kid for a graphic artist position. He had a great portfolio. In fact it included a gorgeous print piece. Unfortunately, it was one I HAD DESIGNED 3 years previous. Turns out he worked at the printing company where I’d had it printed. He was a stripper, burning plates for the press. Apparently he saved the stuff he really liked and put it in his “design” portfolio. I played dumb and asked where he got the idea for the design. He totally BS’d me. I didn’t say a word. But as you can imagine, he didn’t get the job.

That is just to funny.

When I worked at a local TV station they would bring you into an edit bay hand you a script and some tapes and say, “I’ll be back in 30 minutes.” They gave everyone the same script and tapes so you would get a real good idea as to what they can and can’t do.
