March 25, 2015 at 12:40 am[Timothée Ferreol] “So there is an actual difference between the Sony Sharpening feature and the BCC Magic Sharp ?”
It’s like night and day. Sony sharpen plug-in sharpens everything… even stuff you don’t want sharpened (like noise). BCC Magic Sharp has several thresholds so that you can only sharpen small details or large features or anything in between. It also has he ability to detect what is background noise and not sharper that. It’s really an amazing plug-in. You can watch me demo it as part of this Boris TV Webinar:
BCC 9 New Features Round-Up for Sony Vegas Pro
[Timothée Ferreol] “Another question : Does the optical Stabilizer is really worth using instead of the Sony’s stabilization one ?”
That’s a tough one because different stabilizer work better on certain footage. I always have several stabilizers in my kit. Sony includes a lite version of Mercali version 1. Mercalli is a very good stabilizer. You would have to try both and see but as I said, different stabilizer work on some footage and not on others.
[Timothée Ferreol] “Btw I take notice of it but I won’t use any 3D option features because I always find it old-fashioned and chessy, but that really is my personnal point of view ;)”
Actually it’s the latest thing on American television. You can’t watch TV for an hour without seeing 3D words motions tracked inside of a scene for some commercial or episodic opening. It’s very popular these days.
[Timothée Ferreol] “I watched some of your vidéos on Boris, they’re great ! I loved the one about the Corner Pin tool, pretty amazing. Especially the tweaking of the lights you do at the end, it really does sell it !”
Thank you. It’s the little details like matching the lighting that really makes things look natural. I’m glad you found it useful.

April 14, 2015 at 12:34 amI found out the reason why my Vegas was not updating the nested projects, it is because in the preferences option, in the “general tab”, I had unchecked :”close multimedia file when it is not the active application” (don’t know the exact translation). Just saying, if that can help someone out there 😉
Btw the Magic Sharp option of BCC is magic indeed thank you so much, I had videos of a subject a little bit ouf of focus and it did the job perfectly well with some tweaking.

I’m glad it helped you out. It’s an outstanding sharpening plug-in.
