July 1, 2011 at 12:54 pmThe clip is found and the skimmer is set to the matching frame, but as soon as you move your mouse over the clip in the Event Browser (only in list view), the skimmer moves and loses the frame. I have to hit “I” to mark the frame before doing anything else. So, it works if you park your playhead in the storyline, then hit shift-F, then hit I. I believe the FC7 and Avid way would mark in automatically.
When the Event Browser is in Filmstrip view, I get a range selection (IN and OUT marks) and I can grab the clip and move it to the…storyline.
Time will tell if this is a bug or was intended to work this way. I can see using it both ways.

July 1, 2011 at 1:16 pmI found it parks the playhead on the match frame in the event library clip, so if you have snapping on, your skimmer will snap to that playhead if you wander off of it. Just don’t click anywhere else as that will move the playhead.
Best,

July 4, 2011 at 8:46 amYou can toggle the skimmer off by hitting “s”. I’ve found this quite useful sometimes.

July 4, 2011 at 10:29 pmI have the exact same problem! In the Rippe Training it says – and shows that the selection range should be displayed correctly when hitting shift-f even in list view. But it only works in filmstrip view, which is close to being useless. Has to be a bug…also my touch gestures simply wont work… very annoying!
