May 24, 2013 at 4:47 pmOh come on… Not being able to punch in timecode on your keyboard is kind of a lack for a 1000 usd piece of software. Period! Try to critical instead of defensive…;)

May 24, 2013 at 4:50 pmThe software is free!
It’s funny to see how quickly we’ve gone from having access to software that used to cost in the order of a million dollars US… to complaining about having to spend 1/40th of that for a couple of minor features!

May 24, 2013 at 4:55 pmSo should you leave something very simple out, even in the paid version? It makes no sense. And let’s look forward instead of backward, like Resolve used to be a million bucks, it’s not anymore, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved, right?

May 24, 2013 at 5:01 pmI’m all for improvements… Danny said “This software has been gimped so heavily to sell Resolve panels it’s ridiculous.”… which is in itself a ridiculous statement. Software that used to cost a million dollars is now free! If it was gimped to sell panels, I’d think they kinda screwed up the gimping when they made it free.

I agree on that, fully.
I don’t think BMD will sell less panels if they would implement the timecode entering via the keyboard, sales will not drop at all. It’s a minor issue.
BMD’s selling points for panels are (in my opninion):
1. No more clicking thru numerous menu’s (speed)
2. it looks good and thus attracts clientsI just assume the timecode thing wasn’t on their priority list so far. Probably we’ll see it in v10.
