[Graham Bernard] “Is my example what you’re after then? A single very long line of text to run near to the bottom of the Frame, like a Lower Third? Yes?”

I guess? I’ll know if you tell me and I try it out.

Using Vegas Legacy Text write on one line:

This is Ben’s Right to Left Rolling Text

Make sure you have the Sync Timeline Lock active.

Now go to the Placement (Position) Tab and Drag the Text Box to the Right. You should have a Starting Keyframe for that new far Right Placement.

Drag the Text Timeline Cursor to the Right and Drag your Text Box to the Left. You should now have a new KF. Now, when you Play the Text Event that long Text sentence should scroll from Right (that’s the Start Position) to the Left (that’s the Finish Position).

See if my instructions are correct.

    Ok….you don’t seem to understand.

I don’t want the text itself to move. I want it to stay in one spot and fade in left to right, like with a Linear Wipe. But I want to fade in multiple lines one at a time, and I don’t want to do that with multiple text boxes. I legitimately don’t know how else to describe what I want.

I’m being as crystal clear as I can think to be and I have showed you pictures of what I want. I’m sorry, but I don’t know what else I can do to make you realize what it is that I’m looking for. Here is a youtube video (with a timestamp, 0:27) of the exact effect I am looking for.

You want a Typewriter effect. You want the words to be created single letters, like a typewriter.

    Sigh.

    No.

You see how the sentence is word-wrapped and separated into 3 lines? You see how each line fades in one at a time? That’s what I need.

Yes I do. But it’s your fade in one line at a time that’s got me stumped ????.

Good lord, Graham, you are making me exhausted. Ok. Look at the video again.

    “Wha?! What kind
^This is what I refer to as a “line”.
    of monsters are
    ^This is another line.
    these?!”
    ^Third line.

In the video, each of these lines appear from left to right. Like a typewriter, but that’s irrelevant. Once one of those lines has finished appearing, the next line starts.

Yes, just like a Typewriter, or better a Word Processor making an automatic carriage return, thus starting a new line. ????

    Yes.

Now, is there an easy way to do that in Vegas Pro?

Did you have a look at Vegas ProTypeTitler?
