    EXCELLENT!

Now, please oh please oh please tell me how to slide a clip without connected clips moving with it. I mean, that’s sort of the definition of sliding. There needs to be a shortcut key I’m missing.

If I NEVER again had to connect a clip to something else before I made some adjustment, it wouldn’t be too soon.

Position (p) allows you to move clips whereever you want but it will overtake the clip in which you move it on top of. If you are looking for the old school slide, trim (t) does the trick, just hover in the middle of the clip and “slide” left or right to change your in/out points.

Was that what you are trying to do?

    Macbook Pro Retina: 2.6GHZ i7, 16GB RAM 1600MHz DDR3, GT 650M 1GB RAM

    Hackintosh (Sandy Bridge): i5 2500, 16GB 1333MHz DDR3, Nvidia GT640 2GB RAM

    OWC 4TB RAID0 (using esata)
    Tempo SATA Pro ExpressCard/34 (3Gb/s)

I think we are all missing it as it doesn’t exist. ;/

The “best” way is to select the clip in the primary, command-option-uparrow, slip the clip with the trim tool, command-option-downarrow.

You can use kb shortcuts to trim if you single click a clip with the trim tool selected first, then use comma and period to nudge the clip frame by frame. Add shift to nudge more frames.

It’s a bit of an interface workaround, but it can go fast if you practice. 🙂

At least that’s what I am telling myself.

It works but I find it so finicky to the point I don’t use it. I have sent feedback on it. It seems like you have to drag very precisely in either direction or it either won’t work or it constrains you in the wrong direction. Compare it to just about any other program (i.e.: Photoshop) where you can be pretty sloppy and it will “help” you once it figures out which way you’re going.

Yes. I’m getting a little tired of interface workarounds for fairly standard necessary practices. I tell ya, I’m not using this app for the edit interface.
