November 11, 2006 at 10:52 pmIt is possible to add at least 2 more drives to the MacPros, as there are another two SATA ports on the mainboard, you’d have to add them externally, thoough.
I wonder if one (with port-multiplication) could add another six drives.
That way you could have 10 750 GB drives before you need an XRAID or similar.
Would make a nice RAID 10 2x 3TB setup
You can of course boot from an ATA in the second optical drive bay…

November 12, 2006 at 8:12 amI’d never go for such a huge RAID 0. The risc of data loss is multiplied!
Let’s hope Apple integrates RAID 5 into the next OS.
