June 7, 2011 at 5:18 pmHi Sarah,
If you’re using DVCPRO HD, you can likely be well served by an all Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) system, and save on the expense of a Fibre network.
Our EVO Storage Server is capable of being configured as an all GbE solution or a mix of GbE and Fibre if desired.
You can read more about it here:

MediaPros is one of our premier resellers in the UK, and although Tony might be out of the office apparently, you can always ring them and ask for James Dancer as well.
You can ring them on:

June 12, 2011 at 10:36 pmPro Tools can be a problem when working with a SAN designed for video, it brings its own particular requirements that often cause problems.
If you would like advice on your SAN from an independent film & broadcast post production consultancy based in London, give me a shout!

July 14, 2011 at 9:57 amHi Sarah
I have just seen your post and wondered if anything has been signed off yet.
We are a Video Solutions Reseller with over 10 Years experience in SAN on both Fibre and Ethernet and have some very cost effective and fast central storage systems for FCP.
These systems work without client software licensing and over Gigabit Ethernet so no expensive infrastructure needed.
Would be great to have a chat and send you over some information.
Hopefully speak soon.
yours
Duncan
