December 5, 2019 at 2:54 pmThanks Brad, You didn’t steer me wrong in any way. FCPX Maps 1.1 appeared to be a great animator for what I wanted to do. It just turned out to be a poor program that PFS admitted to needing an update. PFS still has this animator on their web site therefore, I’m staying away from them all together. Motion and Davinci are both solid programs in which I’ll move on to for sure. Thanks again and I appreciate your moral attitude. Have a great upcoming Christmas to you and yours. Ray ????????

December 27, 2019 at 4:22 pmThank you for the video. Looks like another option to the others. It appears that there isn’t very good control for shapping a route precisely to the roads curves, etc. Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time in showing me this other program. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Ray ????????

December 27, 2019 at 10:20 pmHi Ray, here’s another more expensive option if you use Adobe After Effects.
Or, depending on how important creating custom maps is for you, you could do these in After Fx, export it and return to editing in FCPX (that’s how i do it).
It’s not cheap but is wil give you awesome results and is customizable in almost every way possible.
Here’s another link:
https://youtu.be/88tJoHGnUXECurious if this is what you’re looking for to enrich your videos.
Kind regards
Tom

December 27, 2019 at 10:51 pmLast time I looked into it, Google has use restrictions on its maps; you have to ask permission to use them in your projects. They probably wouldn’t refuse, but it is a hoop to jump through. The CIA offers some public domain maps; I use maps from an open-source GIS application (qGIS), which can be exported in high resolution.

December 28, 2019 at 12:35 pmThanks for the great info. I don’t have Adobe After Effects, it does look like it would accomplish what I’m after. It does appear to be pretty intensive and I’m wondering if Apple Motion would do close to the same. I’ll dig into this a some more. Thanks again for giving me another alternative, very much appreciated. Ray ????????
