Actually, Curtis now consults with us on headier issues than the basics of the site and you would write Eric for those issues, at eric@creativecow.net

The green, red and blue picons just below the leaders heads and just right of the date range pull down menu set the kind of interface that you want: Green for our default thread view; blue is for a date-range filtered presentation; and red is for the topical style presentation that some prefer.

The green T to the left of the individual threads is where you click to view the thread at once. The first post in every thread has a green T next to it. Click that and that is how you get into the threads in a single click.

Thanks for the kind words about the podcast. Glad to know someone’s listening and it’s not just Franklin and I talking to the trees.

    :o)

I agree with you Sean, I also feel that the forum is very outdated and confusing at times. I much prefer a phpbb or Vbulletin layout.

As to the whole logging in thing it is much easier for me to see what posts I posted to once I log in due to the Red highlight on my name.

I agree — the red name really makes things easier.

I always wondered, all you need to log in is a name and your matching email address. It wouldn’t be too hard to match up someone elses name to their email and make bogus posts……… just a thought,

Duffbeer isn’t the only one with that thought.
I’ve tried to make a valuable contribution to the COW and I would hate for someone to steal my name and make me look like a jerk.

Because I’m not one of those.

We watch these boards like a hawk, as many of you know, and there have been maybe two or three times that this has happened in five years of the Cow. We quickly removed the posts, blocked the originating IP address and the person who tried it found out that they couldn’t even see the Cow, let alone get there to try to propagate mischief again. It was a stern warning and they got the message…

    Best regards,
