[Keith Pratt] “They are quite explicit that it does RGB over HDMI,”

So connecting the LHi, via HDMI, to the Dreamcolor will result in proper signal and color that this monitor requires…correct?

    Have you done this?

And if so, how does it look to you?

[Andrew Clark] “So connecting the LHi, via HDMI, to the Dreamcolor will result in proper signal and color that this monitor requires…correct?”

Correct as long as both the display itself and the cards output are set correctly- set the Kona Control Panel so that the HDMI out is not using the default of YUV but changed to RGB.

“[Keith Pratt] “They are quite explicit that it does RGB over HDMI,” “

YES, part of the HDMI 1.3a spec is to support 4:4:4 RGB over the proper HDMI cabling. THe default output of the Kona’s will be YUV unless you are working in an RGB timeline with a suitable output device. It will not just create the signal correctly if your computer is not setup to send out 4:4:4 RGB correctly.

    FYI
The current MAX length of an 1.3a HDMI cable is 3 meters to retain deep color support on output.

[Andrew Clark] “Have you done this? “

    Yup. and it looks great.

But the Kona LHI can only do 4.2.2 YUV or RGB,no 4.4.4.
    How can it work?

you can monitor as 4:4:4 RGB over HDMI, that is part of the 1.3a HDMI spec but correct output over HDSDI is limited to 10bit 4:2:2 YUV or 8 bit 4:2:2 RGB.

All good!Is it possible to monitor with the Dreamcolor in 10 bit 4.4.4 RGB thru Hdmi 1.3a and output 10bit 4.2.2 yuv thru Hdsdi at the same time for record?
Can 6 sata drives in raid 0 (500mb/s) sustain the data rate for 10bit uncompressed files?
