You need to know which of formats used for codecs. Final Cut Pro can’t work in RealTime with 4:4:4 RGB format. Only 4:2:2 for now. We have very stable system with Kona3 and MacPro (early 2007 Year) with Ciprico RAID. It is solid and can do fades^ speed changes and basic color correction in RealTime with 4:2:2 sources . . .best regards

I assume you mean there are not any RT effects, FCP can and does handle 444 RGB data just do not stop the playback to keep the viewing image in RGB
(when you stop playback in FCP it reverts to what all video apps know best, 8bit YUV- hence the color jump when starting and stopping RGB files)
