June 9, 2011 at 12:21 amFor upconverted SD Material, is there any benefit, or is it overkill, to use ProRes422 HQ? how does this setting change the space available on the drive?
What about 720p from an EX3? -

June 9, 2011 at 1:53 pmIn my opinion, standard ProRes is fine for all of your scenarios. If you need to save space, even ProRes LT would suffice.
I would use HQ if recording for green screen or planning heavy cc out of the EX.
The space savings is significant with LT vs ProRes vs HQ.
LT will give you roughly twice the record time vs HQ with Prores falling right in the middle, but closer to LT data rates.

PX is ProRes Proxy and is used for offlne purposes. I wouldn’t use it for broadcast.
