We found the problem by removing the left side panel of the camera and when we laid the camera on it’s side the blue CCD literally fell loose making the camera completely useless. The repair will require the replacement of the complete CCD block. There is no way to reattach and properly align an individual CCD in the field. If you have an equipment maintenance background you can buy the CCD block from JVC and replace it yourself, but if you have never torn a piece of JVC equipment apart before, I HIGHLY recommend you pay a professional to do it. Many of the parts and connections are very small and can easily be damaged if they are not handled properly.PARTS SUPPORT FOR JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS:

July 13, 2011 at 10:30 pmMy thoughts exactly. If this is sent to the manufacturer the entire board would need to be replaced. Not to toot my own horn, but our facility has the equipment to replace the chips on the board itself. Make sure you find any way possible to repair the board where ever you decide to take it to so you can save some money. Good Luck!

July 20, 2011 at 5:22 amHi
now i make few shots in usa, when i back to europe i call to service and ask about my jvc camera.
My service man give me high price to ccd (too high for this camcorder).
Maybe i find cheaper ccd.
Where You ask about ccd?, how many pay Yopu for CCD? -

July 20, 2011 at 1:47 pmJVC or an authorized service center are the only providers for the CCD assembly that I am aware of. Expect to pay around $1,400.00 for the part plus the cost of labor to install it.
