Motion-JPEG should maintain very good quality. If you want lossless quality you need to use a lossless codec like Lagarith. I believe that AviDemux supports Lagarith but then the file sizes will probably be just as big as FRAPS.

It shouldn’t take long and the files will be smaller.

Thanks, as you said before, de-scaling loses quality, is there any way to not lose quality, when going down to 1280×720?

Also, when I normally render, it can take 30mins – 60mins, when doing a batch render, it does that for the first clip, then by no.4 in the batch render, with all variables the same, in terms of effects, it can suddenly take up to 3 or 4 hours – is this normal?

No, this is why you should record at the same quality you plan to deliver.

Sounds like a memory leak somewhere. You may be running low on resources on subsequent renders. It might be good to do smaller batches and restart Vegas in between.

Thanks for your help, but is there any programs you no of, where it will automatically clean the ram or whatever need to be done, because by having to restart and having to be around my computer while it is rendering to restart it, defeats the point of batch render to me, have you got anything, or know of anything that can do this? Also you don’t happen to know of any free Vegas packs which I can find do you?
