Before I got your post above, we did some more digging and found the field dominance location in the Compressor. Its in the INSPECTOR, but one would not know that unless you already had imported something into inspector(I’m not half as stupid as I thought I was).

So, we found the setting to be on HIGH when I imported a new QT file of the program into Compressor. We never could get the NTSC hooked up to the Kona LS(any suggestions on cable to be used, and settings), but I am now converting to Mpg2 anyway, so if nothing else I can reburn another one to see if this works.

If not, then I will try your last suggestions, as I printed out this info(internet computer not the same as the editing MAC).

Thanks for the help. I hope I don’t have to do as you suggested cause there would be a whole lot of re-editing even with just these clips!!!

Well, we finally got the NTSC monitor to work, using the Green Composite cable that is hooked into the Betacam SP from the Kona LS.
The problem was in FCP, where there is a VIEW – External Video, and it was on NONE, so we switched it to something else, and wow, video on the TV!!
Now, the goofy thing is the video looked super, just like it did in the Computer monitor display. I checked the field dominance and it was all indeed on Lower Field, so that was fine. The problem must be in the Compressor part of it.
So we are taking your advice and going directly to Compressor, without converting to Quicktime first. I checked and it is set for Lower also. We should know something this evening, as its about 7-8 hours of converting to Mpg2. So, perhaps we are getting someplace.
Thanks again for your input. Seems like we are always learning in this business!!!

    Borjis,
If you contact me offlist with an email, or contact info, I would be happy to send you one of our DVD programs(if interested), since you were so helpful to us in getting this problem solved. I burned a disk last night, and the jittery video was not longer jitery.
Again thanks for the help. Its much appreciated.
    Thanks,
