October 19, 2009 at 11:54 pmJust watching it back I saved it to my desktop and set Quicktime to show it in high Quality. It’s definitely a de-interlaced issue. The two field data is not there on the fish or the potatoes either. The angle of the triangle is just more prominent, but it’s on the other items too.

October 20, 2009 at 5:59 amOk, thanks! It just came to my mind, that we started exporting from Premiere in progressive some time ago. We experienced lots of problems with the final output files when Premiere converted to DV Pal interlaced – lots of digital faults in places where we edited the video with effects. We couldn’t find a solution for this other than going progressive field order, since this eliminated the problem.
I do have a monitor by my side but I’m testing a new computer, which does not have a firewire card – hence no connection to our DV deck. But I’ll try getting a firewire card inserted today maybe.
Yes, I do everything in Premiere. Just one small thing is done in AE, but that’s in another movie on the DVD.
Next step: I’ll try getting my monitor up and running and I’ll have to get Premiere to output it in interlaced – probably uncompressed AVI.
