November 27, 2007 at 3:31 amI don’t do 24pa so this is a long shot:
Are you getting the message that dropped frames were detected on the last capture? If so, that sounds like a storage drive problem. (If the storage drive isn’t able to keep to speed then you’ll get this dropped frames warning when there are no dropped frames on the tape and you’ll get multiple clips, though usually not at the EXACT same place.)
If this is the case you could try capturing to a (different?) internal drive or a different external and see if it goes away.
If it’s some other error message dealing with pa drop frame, then I’m talking about something completely different and you can ignore me.

November 27, 2007 at 4:28 amHi there,
Actually, I posted to the Cow about the message “Breaks in Cadence detected.” however, before that I was getting the Dropped Frames message so you info is useful, thanks. I am actually capturing to an external drive. Maybe I”ll give it another shot capturing directly to hard drive. Thanks!

January 5, 2008 at 11:51 pmHello,
The current project I am working on has footage shot in 24P and jpegs of various images cropped at all different sizes on the sequence. When I exported the final sequence at 29.97 to a quicktime for DVD Studio Pro, the 24P footage looks great. The Jpegs however did not. They are warped and bowed. They are not pixelated. I am trying to create a DVD that with play on a NTSC DVD player. Are there any special settings or specific format the jpegs need to be in for FCP in order to look sharp and straight?
Thanks for your help! -

January 6, 2008 at 7:50 amYou are adding on to a rather old thread on the forum. Suggest you start a new one so it appears right at the top of the heap. Also, make the subject more about the issue of the JPEG problem, and specify the format of 24p sequence you are working with.
There will be responders who know much more than I and can probably help!
Cheers…
